Just bought house FTB in under 6 weeks all in, in Cork. Had a horrible time with a threatening EA and a broker who told us fairy stories about mortgages being ready and approved until we wanted the money,
But, we got a really fair and helpful solicitor who answered calls and explained stuff in English not legal. We got him through HomeBuyHomeSell adn his bill came yesterday. For a house costing €320k he charged €1800 for everything. less than 1% of purchase price.

Check it out if you don't get recommendations. Neither of us knew anyone down here and we rang 4 in the area and were quoted 3% of purchase price from all of them. Eddie Hobbs would be so proud of me
:D

Can you post a breakdown of the €1,800 and how it is apportioned between things like solicitor's professional conveyancing fee, stamp duty, Land Registry/Registry of Deeds fees, searches, postage etc.?

You did very well there Nelly. I purchased recently for €295k & the breakdown of my outlay is as follows:
Land Registry fees - €631 (€500 on Transfer, €131 on Mortgage)
Revene Commissioners - €307.50 (Stamp on Mortgage)
Law Searchers fees - €88
Copy Folio - €25
Total: €1,051.50

If you need to open a new Folio its and additional €60. You could add €20 or €40 for Commissioner for Oaths but I got mine done for free and I also got my Solicitors fee for free :D. Usually the Solicitors fees come in at around €950 + VAT.
