Can anyone recommend a reasonable and reliable handyman to do some work in a new build house in Cork city like putting down wooden floors, floor and wall tiles, putting up curtain rails, towel rails etc - many thanks

Wooden floors & tiling !!!!! you need more than a handyman, worth paying for a prefessional and getting the job done right.
Curtain rails etc. would be a job for a handyman alright, but you'd be surprised if you gave it a go, now easy it might be to do yourself.

It's def. worthwhile getting a professional to lay the tiles & timber floor. The shop that supplied them should have a list of fitters.

A handyman should be able to fit the curtain poles and towel rails - your local shop should have details. It's not that easy to fit these - especially with the poor quality of plastering currently about. ALWAYS get a recommendation.
