Halogen Lights

bought three halogen lights over the last while they start out good but then they start blowing bulbs a minute after inserting a new bulb. I take the precaution of not touching the bulb whilst inserting it because of the high heat and if you touch them you will leave a oily mark and they blow easily. Are they kinda disposable things that after a few uses they are bandjaxed. Has anyone else have the same problem?

Try a lower Wattage

Surely a higher wattage is needed if they are blowing?

Higher wattage means more heat, and if the bulbs get too hot they'll blow.

if it is the external security type (about 5-6 inche long) then make sure they sit in the fitting correctly the is little dimples on the ends that should sit in matching contacts.
