Halloween / Derry with Sligo for Afters.

Hi my friend and I are heading up to Derry for the Halloween festival (2 days) - was at it last year and was great fun.

Im going to go as a zombie this year but im hopeless at dressing up !
Any ideas on where I can get a really great zombie outfit that wont kill my pocket.. ?

I havnt been to sligo since my student days.. 15 years ago - I guess its changed alot now, Does anyone know whats hot and whats not in Sligo at the moment - staying for a few days a few lads out having a good time - (not in costume..but you never know..)
I used to get a pound a pint in my days..I guess it wont be like that anymore..but if there are any new / hip student pubs please let me know

I'd never heard of this festival so just googled it but I can't figure out how to get tickets. Do I just email the folk park?

Also, does everyone dress up and is there anywhere nearby to stay?

I love Halloween and I've been looking for something good to do this year.

Hi Cahir - its not a ticket event

Its more a street affair, everyone dresses up in costume and has a great time
there is usually a BBC stage with music, and a large fireworks display.
but the fun is going into pubs and clubs with everyone showing their costume.
We dressed up on the night before halloween aswell - and this was special as we were the only ones! and got lots of attenion

So plan to do the same again !

That sounds cool. When I googled I found a Halloween festival in the folk park in Omagh and thought that was it.

I've been away for the last few halloweens because they always seem to do it better abroad but I might give this a go! This year with Halloween on the bank holiday Monday I'd imagine a lot of people will dress up on the 30th.
