i had an account with halifax who around january were trying to take £800 from my account, i went into the bank and they admitted it was a mistake and re-payed the full amount of charges and interest they put on the money. i then around august decided that after all the hassle i had recieved from them i decided to close my account, this was done without any problems and they even sent me a cheque for £4.23 which was the remaining balance in my account. My account was then re-opened without my knowledge on the 25th of september they took the £800 out and then reclosed it on the 30th of september. I have a statement from them saying that on the 25th of september no activity went on in my account and then a different one that they sent me after the 30th with the money taken out. i would just like to ask anyone if they know if they have the right to do this. if anyone has anymore questions please ask because thats just the brief outline of what happened. thanks
