Halifax Current A/C interest threshold down to €1,500

Halifax recently relaunched their current account with a limit of €1,500 on the balance eligible for 7% interest.
This applied to new customers only. Old customers still got interest on balances up to €2,000.

From 31st October 2009, the interest threshold will be set to €1,500 for all customers.

Those using this account as an interest earning vehicle, or those who maintain €2,000 at all times to maximise interest, should reduce their deposit by €500 accordingly.

Halifax reduced the rate threshold for new customers several months ago. They have now reduced it for existing customers.
