hairdressing business

Hi,

I am investigating a hairdressing business that is for sale in a medium sized country town. It seems to have a decent reputation but I know that that could be because of the current owner.

I've asked for 3 years' accounts plus more recent figures on sales, wages, etc.

The crux is that I'm not a hairdresser, but I have managed businesses in the past.

If there's anyone here that is familiar with the hairdressing industry, my question is: If I'm not a hairdresser, and plan only to manage it, is it worth my while?

I have some money to invest but I don't want to just spin my wheels.

A most basic question - is running a business like this a full time job? Most are run by someone who also stands behind the hairdressers chair, except maybe the really large ones.
