Hair Clippers

My current hair clippers (Remington Ceramic) would not cut butter.

Anybody recommend a brand of a reliable set?

I am thinking about Philips.
 
Unless you go for very high end stuff, I believe they're all much of a muchness, with, in my experience, about 3 years useful service in them.

I've had a few over the last 12 years or so ranging from about €25 to €80. My current Nicky Clarke (ahem) was cheap and is on it's last legs too, but it was no worse or better than any of the others. In fact, I'd have no problem getting another one.
 
Wahl is the brand that my husband swears by. Cuts our 2 sons hair and the youngest fella even said that it didn't hurt, had a Remington last time and he screamed all the way throught it. Cost about 40 euro.

Don't know which is the more worrying interpretation of this post:

1. You have a talking dog
or
2. "Dog" is a term of endearment for your other half!
 
Would recommend Wahl too. You can get the numbered attachments which the barbers use for the various hair lengths required.
 
Our Remmington stopped working but if you tighten the screw regularly it works perfectly!

Might be worth a try before you chuck it in the recycling.
 
I have given up on the shaver.

I'll go to Argos for new one.

Must Argos take back the old one for recycling?
 
If you are buying a hair clippers and bringing a similar item back then yes they are obliged to take it back for recycling. If you don't have it on the day you have 15 (?) days thereafter to bring the old one in for recycling.
 
Get Nicky Clarke - relatively cheap and very good - I have had mine about 6 years and use it biweekly
 
Not being smart or anything but do any of the above ever go to a hairdressers or barber?, Just ask them to get you one like they have, I bought one in a hairdressers wholesaler years ago and you could cut the grass with it still, cost £70 wholesale then.
