Hi back again im just full of questions these days.I've found the house id like to buy but it looks like im to late or am i ? the house was still available last friday morning when i viewed it.The estate agent told me their was a bid of 150 k on the house.I decided to go to the bank first chance id get this coming wensday and see would they give me the money to bid on the house.Im working today ( monday ) and tommorow ( tuesday ).Problem is i've been bet to the draw,i went past the estate agents office saturday night and saw a picture of the house i want with "sale agreed" written accross it.Presumably the bid of 150k has been accepted.Would it be viewed as ignorant for me to try to come in with a higher bid now ? To be honest not bothered about that if i thought it would work.I doubt "the meek will inherit the earth" they usualy get stepped on.Is there any point of me chancing my arm now with a bid.Can the seller have signed any paperwork yet ? id be surprised it being a bank holiday weekend and everything. How long does it usualy take the seller and their solictor to get together ? if i do put in a bid,i guess it would have to be reasonably big say 5k more than the other bid to grab the sellers attention ? Id really hate to lose this house it's very nice And at 150k undervalued by at least 20k in my opinion.
Any feedback or suggestions gratefully recieved.

Put in a higher bid if you want it, as long as no contracts have exchanged hands the seller can take more offers.

you can still put a bid in... the contracts don't get signed for about a month or two...

BUT....

if the owner accepts your offer, he is the sort of person who will do the same thing to you after you have spend a few thousand on surveys and solicitors and you can't really complain....

a valid point jhegarty il have to decide one way or another fairly soon.thank you both for your help.
