Greenhouse problems in the wind

Not sure if this is the correct site but,
Did anyone have problems with Polycarbonate Greenhouse in this stormy weather. I thought that I had mine in a sheltered spot but I did not.
Would welcome replies or advice

What kind of damage did you suffer? What material is your frame made from? How well sealed was the greenhouse?
 
It is made with an Aluminium frame and Polycarbonate panels. As the wind comes mostly from the west I positioned it to allow for this. It was getting shelter with high trees . At first a few of the panels came out but I was able to get these back. Then the doors blew off and two of the back panels blew out. I could not do anything about this as it was too windy and a big job to put back. Then the whole frame came away from the base and the whole house tilted . I had to tie it back until the wind eases so it can be re erected properly.
Some of the frame is now bent , which i am sure can be straightened out and a few panes broken .
 
Polycarbonate is close to unbreakable, so you might have cheaper acrylic panels. I have 3mm polycarbonate that you can almost bend in two, or hit full force with a hammer without breaking.

The main cause of wind damage is wind getting into the structure. Once you get panels or doors popping off, the structure becomes weakened and susceptible to damage. You could seal all the panels into their frames with some clear silicone. This will stop wind getting in, and add more structural strength.

If the doors are loose fitting, you may need to secure these in high winds.
 
It was all bought together so thought it was a standard structure. It was all sealed and there was three magnetic strips to keep the doors closed firmly . Having said that I would say that if you fell against it you might fall through .
 
Fair enough, sounds like a weak structure to begin with and it might cost more to strengthen than replace.
 
It's better that you replace it rather then repair it s it will really cost you much and when one of my friend was facing the same he also replaced it.

Why would they do this when they've already stated that they could bend the frame back into shape?
