How long after grand of probate is issued shoud a beneficiary have to wait to recieve payment.
No estate involved.

How long is a piece of string?

And there is an estate involved. It is the estate of the deceased out of which payments are to be made to beneficiaries - if the estate is solvent.

You should ask the executor for an estimate of time. If you are unhappy with the time frame given you can employ a solicitor to engage with the executor, through their solicitor, to hurry the process.

If you suspect skullduggery - which you would think was rampant from some of the posts on here but which, in my experience is quite unusual - then do go to your own solicitor.

Otherwise, it is highly likely that your benefit will wend its way to you in early course. Very few executors need or want the aggravation of irritated beneficiaries hassling them.

An Executor should endeavour to wind up and administer an Estate within 1 year from the date of death of the testator/testatrix - generally referred
to as " the executors year "

Straightforward Estates would fall into this category but more complex Estates may take longer

Thanks all.no estate to be sold all revenue. Sitting in one bank account. Solicitor is dealing with it.She suggested it would be sorted by Christmas . Would in your opinions be achievable.

Deiseblue...getting grant of probate within a year of death is achievable. Winding up the estate is another chunk of work and could well take some time.
