Granny flat grants

Does anybody know where one can get info. regarding grants available for granny flats? Any advice much appreciated

I don't think there are any. There are grants for bathrooms ( Local Authority) although when my mother got hers done, it felt as if price charged by authorised supplier was top whack plus grant so she might have been better getting someone who was less lazy/haphazard to have done a better job.

Most local authorities offer a disabled persons grant scheme, the scheme offers grants to elderly or disabled persons to modify/extend their accomodation. As far as I know granny flats are excluded from the scheme but most local authorities will cover bedroom/bathroom extensions. The scheme varies depending on the local authority, your best bet is to give the council a call see what they cover
