What happens in the event of a grandparent leaving a house to "be sold and the money divided equally between all living grandchildren (currently 4 one teenager and 3 under 4 years)"

Do trustees need to be appointed? or do the parents look after the money until they are old enough. Can the money be used for education purposes or does this have to be expressly stated in the will.

Thanks

Is this a question about drawing up a will now? In which case, yes, appoint trustees.

Or about a will going into Probate? It would be unusual for Trustees not to have been appointed or a clause confirming that a receipt by the beneficiaries' guardian was sufficient receipt.

The children cannot have the money until they are 18. Its questionable whether the money can be touched at all until they come of age.
