Hi all,i have just discovered my Grandfather who died in 1972 had American Citizenship which he gained sometime in the early 1900s when he emirgrated there. After a few years he came home to marry and live full time in Ireland. My question is would his grandchildren therefore be entitled to American citizenship/US Passports etc.Any answers appreciated.

I'm not an expert but I don't think so. His children would. My brother is married to an American, they live in Ireland and their children were born here but all hold both Irish and US passports.
However unless the children live in the US for at least 4 years before they turn 18 their children will not be able to claim US citizenship, (my brother's grandchildren).
This is my understanding anyway.
