Re: Got left go today need advise on what I can claim.
With regard to your mortgage & bank loan, you will not qualify for any help with your mortgage as firstly, you are not living in the house & secondly, even if you were if your ex-boyfriend is working more than 29 hours a week, you would not qualify, so you should consider renting out another room (if there is one) to help you meet your repayments.
Alternatively, you could approach your lender to see if you could perhaps go onto an interest only option for a set period pending review, until such a time that your financial circumstances improve.
Regarding your bank loan, you could approach your lender, advise them of your change in circumstances & discuss the possibility of restructuring your loan in order to reduce your repayments. They might agree to extend the period of the loan.
You should consider making an appointment with your local MABS office, who could advise you further. They could also approach your lenders on your behalf, which might be the better option for you. There is a backlog for appointments, so I would advise you to make an appointment as soon as possible.
Meanwhile you could have a look at their website for advice on how to go about doing this yourself. They provide sample letters to send to lenders, & guidelines on how to go about doing it.
