Google slow loading up

Just lately google seems to be very slow loading up taking about half a minute to a minute to load. I have deleted temporary files and cookies - is there anything else I can do?
 
Use internet explorer. have google as home page (not chrome). Went into start up and unclicked a few things and it helped a bit but still think computer is sometimes slow coming on and then loading internet. Am with sky broadband so think speed ok with them

Just did speed test 57 ms ping, 1.00 download, 0.55 upload - not sure what that means though!
 
Do you have any 'helper' toolbars installed in Internet Explorer? Like the google bar, anything like that? If the computer is slow in general, then perhaps there are other apps/add-ons running.
 
What version of Internet Explorer?

IE in general is the slowest of the browsers so I would try changing to Chrome and see if its any faster.

1.00 download speed (i'm assuming this is MB) is pretty poor for broadband as well.....
