How long does it take to clear google cache.?

I put an advert up on the web, the item has been sold and I removed the advert, however it is still comming up in the google directory.

As someone who ran a website and fielded complaints from people about incorrect information where they'd done a Google search rather than check the website and had a cached page with old (and incorrect at the time of the search) information, cahced pages were the bane of my life.

I think you can have them removed by Google if you contact them. As the webmaster, I could have the url removed directly.
