Good Sites for Web Links

We all know the more links to your website the more traffic you get higher up the chain you go. The trouble is a lot of directories cost money, advertising and it can be difficult to measure the feed back.

Can anyone recommend good sites for placing your web link that don't cost an excessive amount? The likes of for example and I know someone mentioned another one recently on AAM.

Spent a while going through these, the links and menus and sub menus but found it fairly good though.
