Personally I would be wary of venere.com, we booked through them last year and ended up in a total dive which we left after one sleepless night, as it was nothing like it was advertised,( it was dirty, remote, noisy, tiny and far from the 3* 2 bed apartment close to St Peters we booked) we had to pay in full on arrival despite venere stating payment was due on departure and had to fight for a refund for 4 unstayed nights, our "review" of the accommodation was removed after a week despite being completely factual and venere never responded to our complaints.
We managed to find a good hotel in the centre of Rome here

10 minutes walk from Termini and within easy walking distance of many popular attractions. Staff were all bilingual and more than happy to assist us any way they could. There is a metro station about 2-3 minutes walk away if you want to explore - when we were there a metro pass cost 75c for time limited travel on any route and tons of shops and eateries nearby.
