Golf Clubs Accepting Members in Dublin

Hi

My dad has just retired and would like to join a golf club somewhere not too far away in Dublin.

Are any courses doing decent deals at the moment for this?........preferably within 30 mins of south dublin

He plays to a c 24 handicap standard so wouldn't disgrace himself.........

Check out Killeen Golf club in Straffan, played there last week and thought it was very good. My friend is the member and think it is cheap enough.
 
I am a member in Elmgreen, Castleknock. 5 minutes from old toll bridge plaza. Grade B - GUI and reduced green fees membership is 475euros. Grade A - GUI and no green fees is 875euros. Excellent value. Check out www.elmgreengolfclub.ie
 
I've noticed ad's in the back page of the Irish Times recently where members of golf clubs are leasing out membership. This means you can play in the club for a year by just paying the annual sub and gives you a chance to see how the club suits your requirements. There was one recently for Glen O The Downs in Wicklow which is very accessible from the M50.
