Not sure if this is in the correct forum..
Im going full-time in my job in a couple of weeks (I was working 3 days pw for 6 months) so will be coming off Casual jobseekers where I was getting €98 pw. I rang Revenue and they advised that my tax credits have been reduced as I was on JSA, so technically when I do go full time I am being taxed more - thus paying back the dole I got while on part time work!
Standard tax credits should be 3660 pa and mine have been reduced to 3030 pa also my cut off point is now 33,670 compared to the standard 36,000. Seems like its pointless me going full time to just receive the same income as I was when i was part time?
Also do I have to pay the health/income levy now even though I was unemployed for the last year?
Im having a chat with my boss tomorrow re salary when I go full-time, I need to get figures and facts straight before I speak to him!
