Going abroad for work for few months..entitled to JB on return?

Hi,

If a person goes abroad to take up a short fixed term contract (say for 6 months) and then returns back to ireland after this time, is the person entitled to unemployment benefit on returning to ireland if they cannot find work?

I'm considering taking a position overseas which may only last a few months am trying to find out if my wife and I could get any UB if it didnt work out and we had to return home.

we would both have enough stamps paid at present to claim UB.
