gmail coming through on phone but not on laptop

I had it set up that my emails would come through both phone and laptop, but suddenly I can't access my gmail account online although they are coming through on my phone. No problems with my internet connection. Any ideas?
 
Could you explain the problem in a little more detail? Can you access the gmail.com site? Can you log-in? Are you using a POP3 client? etc....
 
Leo, I cannot log in to my gmail.com account on laptop. It gives me a standard "Internet Explorer cannot display the web-page". Can get on to all other sites and the e-mails are coming into my phone, so I don't think I've been "hacked". As for POP etc., I havn't a clue. All set up by my techie son, who has gone abroad!
 
Thats an odd one - Are Google restricting Gmail access on other browsers now? Seems to be working at the moment for me in IE..
 
no -- its just a quirk i would think --- clearing cookies or adding gmail as a trusted site would probably work --- but just using chrome is easier !
