Glulam beams

anybody know where I can source Glulam beams. I need them for my garage roof construction. Garage is approx 8 metres wide and 13 metres long and I want to put in Glulams every 3rd/4th joist to act as a support for the upstairs room and the roof. I have considered using steel but spans are too long and Glulams would seem to be the best solution

Dont think you need gluelams....

you may consider engineered timber I beams for the floor, otherwise 9 x 2 as rafters should be more than sufficient for those spans....
check the IS444 tables in any Homebond manual.

I know Riverview Timber Frame Systems deal with both I beams and Glulam beams. Might be worth asking them.
I've no connection with them apart from just after ordering my timber frome from them.

Wogan Distributors in Dundalk 041 6861000 have Glulam beams ex-stock.

If it's a garage, and you're not looking for pure aesthetics, use LVL or LSL from any McMahons - available in 45 x 241, 89 x 241, 89 x 302. We use those sizes all the time around here.
