Glue recommendation?

I need to attach a metal plaque to a painted wood internal door but can't use screws or other fixings. The plaque weighs about a pound and a half. Can anyone suggest a glue strong enough to do the job? Is there a proprietary brand out there for metal-to-wood? Advice appreciated.

silicone or Gunther cream (spelling?) may do the trick... (Gunther pronounced gunner)

Or maybe try a two part epoxy resin glue?... but the item would have to be held in place somehow as the glue dries...
