My mother-in-law in America wants to send us an annual monetary gift to avoid inheritance taxes on her end. I think she can send up to about $13,000 annually, but I'm worried as to what tax issues, if any, this might bring up on our end. She's wired smaller amounts before and there has never been any issue, but wondering if anyone knows if a larger amount will pose a problem. It would be wired, so none of the worry over cash deposits over 10k. TIA.
