Gift vouchers

I bought a gift voucher from an 'experience' company specifically to carry out one particular activity (which is on the voucher). According to their Terms and Conditions, they have a no refund policy, however, they are now unable to provide the particular activity that I wanted and offered me to pick an alternative activity, which I do not want. Where do I stand legally to get a refund? Any ideas?

I would imagine - in this instance they would have to refund you as they are not providing you with what you paid for. Contact the NCA to check your rights.

I've had a very similar experience with a certain 'high flying' experience provider company that only sells vouchers for their service rather than the service itself.

In the end I lost €420 and while I recognise that it was my fault for not adhering to their T&Cs the demands regarding re-bookings and locations were quite ridiculous and the proprietors attitude towards me went down like a 'lead balloon'.

Vouchers are treated very differently in law than products and services and generally a company will have you bound up by the whiskers. Read all the T&Cs carefully and try to abide by them as best you can.

Good luck...
