hi, me and a friend have been aproved for a mortgage from bank of ireland.

we we're both receiving gifts from our parents, to cover the 8% balance.

i got a gift of 10k, my parents took out a loan to cover this (3.3% ebs loan to be exact)

boi asked for proof from both me and my friend, that our parents had the money in their accounts.

we sent off our parents statements, the one i sent, simply shows a lodgement of 10k into my parents account, from the loan.

our broker has said boi may have an issue with this "lodgement".

would they have an issue, if this was a loan? remember, it's not my loan after all.
 
That's for your broker to worry about and negotiate, not you.

Ask him what other lenders will match the deal you have in the event BOI mess you around.

How much work has he done on your behalf?

Are you sure you're getting the best rate in the market for your circumstances?

These are the sorts of issues he should be focussing on, not giving you sleepless nights about the minutiae of the process.
