GHD as hand luggage

Can I take a GHD hair straightener as cabin hand baggage? Checked webpage but focus is mostly on liquids and cant find anything specific on this.
 
my sister went off last week and came back out to give us her little gas canisters as she was told she could not take them in luggage ( and this was checked in luggage )

My GHD does not have gas cannister. Just regular GHD straightening irons.
 
No problem taking ghd as hand luggage. I have taken mine loads of times
 
Travelled to Italy last week with my GHD in my hand luggage. No problem at all!
