A friend of mine is buying an A4 in the north for 5250 pounds.
This equates to c.€6230.
However the figures he is being quoted in the banks to get his hands on £5250 is well over €6400.
Has anyone experience of buying cars in the north and paying in pounds that involved an exchange that was done through a mechanism/instution other than a bank?
The seller of the car in the North won't take euros unfortunately.
