Does anyone know any portal or holiday websites that might offer sopecial deals on cruise holidays. Or would anyone know how long before the actual cruise operators like Royal Caribbean would put their deals on the web...

I was hoping to pick something up for 3 or 4 days in the Med. thanks

Avoid the Irish travel agencies & even those who say that they specialise in cruises. You will usually find that their "offers" are priced above the costs obtainable by dealing directly with the cruise companies on line. A really good UK based specialist agency I have used several times is www.thecruiseline.co.uk
N.B. Almost every listed price is advertised to enable a discounted price to be shown & frequently even that price can be bettered by shopping around. If you are not familiar with cabin locations & deck levels check them out & avoid obscured views from lifeboats, too far forward or aft, near the gangways or near the elevators.

I went on a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary II last year and booked through . From my brief research on the subject, they seemed to be good value, and certainly better than non-online or 'traditional' tour agents. Ironically, the main operator's prices don't seem to be too competitive with some of these slicker direct online agencies.

It turned out from talking to others on the cruise that our price was around the best. Additionally, the customer service was excellent. (I have no idea, however, if they would be particularly good for Med cruises.)

It might be worth your while checking out further comments on http://www.cruisedirect.com/ , etc. with experienced cruisers on http://www.cruisecritic.com/
