Hi,
Hubby has been turned down for serious illness cover on basis that he has Ankylosing Spondilitis & is being treated with Enbrel.Went through tied agent but am wondering if all companies will have same attitude or if anybody on this drug has been able to get serios illness protection !
We are thinking of extending our existing term in order to reduce payments.
Agent suggesting we keep our existing cover which will last for 10 yrs & take on additional policy for life only for remainder of term 15 yrs (total term 25).

Appreciate any advice,
Thanks.

I would have thought that Ankylosing Spondilitis would cause one to be turned down for Permanent & Total Disability (PTD) cover, but not Specified Serious Illness cover. The former covers a broad spectrum, the latter just the listed ailments. Ask your agent if you can have Serious Illness cover without PTD. If his company cannot separate the two, try a broker as not all companies insist you have both.
