We had a leak in our sitting room, and as a result, the sofa has a very damp smell. We had a professional cleaner in to work on it, and now it is very clean, but smells like a rosy AND damp sofa....

Is it possible to get the smell out? Or do we need to get a new sofa?

Thanks

maybe change the foam cushions that you sit on if that is possible. I think thats relatively inexpensive.

Lots of questions to answer but:

How wet did it get originally?

What did the cleaner guy have to say about the smell?

Did he use the foam cleaner which I understand can be quite smelly?

How long ago did both the wetting and cleaning take place?

Perhaps you need to air the room well and just give it time to dry out.

If we get a few dry sunny days (hopefully we will) take it out to air in the sunshine and it won't be long shifting the smell.
