Hi,im living in a house and getting RA.The welfare officer said she needs to see me in the house and said she'd be by today between 2 and 5 pm.i cancelled hair and dental appointment and she woman never turned up .she had my contact number and not as much as a phone call did i get.

Is this normal.Or can i expect a surprise visit.makes me mad as i had to keep my 2 kids home all afternoon and miss out on appointments.

Unfortunately this does happen so why not give the CWO a ring and request a new appointment
Common courtesy would suggest that you should at least get a phone call

CWOs do keep appointments in general, but there can always be an exception - she may have been delayed at another visit, may not have been in work today (with no replacement officer, or a replacement officer who wasn't aware of your appt), or, heaven forbid, she may have had an incident in her clinic or at another visit so was unable to get to you or to contact you.

Give her a call on Monday and re-arrange the appointment.

By the way, if you had mentioned your dental appointment to the CWO when the visit was being arranged, she may have been able to adjust her schedule to suit you? Worth remembering in case it clashes again.

thanks folks.i called at 4.30 that day and was told she was out doing rounds.I called 11 am the following day and left a message.again nothing.plus i left my contact number.Grrrrrrrr.....at last, she came today.spend 30 seconds with me and left.

Sounds like she's run off her feet!

Surely this is a small amount of inconvience to get you RA which is probably in the region of €700/€900 EVERY month. I'd sit naked in the snow to be ble to get in excess of €9000 pa.

I reckon you should be saying "yipppeee" rather than "Grrrrrrr"
