In 2010 my husbands employer decided to change from paying them weekly to paying them every two weeks. All employees agreed to the changeover and basically skipped a weeks wages in order to move to the bi-weekly payment. So he now works a 2 week period and gets paid for it on the following Friday.
The employer has now decided that they should work 2 weeks in arrears before the bi-weekly payment and wants them all to skip another weeks wages before the end of the year. Clear as mud I know but my question is can he do this without the consent of the employees ???
Has the company cash flow problem?
Seems a bit strange to want to do this. Surely he needs consent from the employees as it is a change in their contract of employment.
