getting oven connected

We've moved into our new house, got keys a few weeks back. doing a lot of the flooring, tiling etc as we're quite handy etc...but, I need a certified gas man to fit and connect our oven and hob.

2 questions.

1) will the fella cut out the hob space in the worktop himself or should I be doing this

and

2) anyone done something similar recently and have rough cost estimate?

(the builders are still on site completing another phase, and have a certified gas man on site who will hopefully do our job rather than contacting bord gais directly)

Thanks!

I guess you would be alright with about €150.- incl. a certification for Board Gais-if the house isn't certified already.

I'd say you would have to cut out the hole yourself. Unlikely that a gas plumber would be going around with a jig saw. There should be a template supplied with the hob showing how much to cut.
