Hi
Friend is relocating to other part of the country to start a new permanent job. The job will involve a salary drop
They've been renting up to this point but plan to buy in their new location asap.
They've never had a mortgage but do have mortgage approval based on current salary etc but the bank recently told them that the cert of income form has expired and they'd need an updated one for their records and any mortgage would be subject to updated version of that form

Moving to their new location they are not sure if their new company will complete and sign a certificate of income form for them given fact that they are new to the company and on probation or would they have to wait until after period of probation before any lending institure would consider them for mortgage
What do others think?
Thanks

A more pertinent issue might be that lenders generally expect borrowers to be permanent and have served any probationary period before they will offer them a loan.

They can get mortgage approval based on the new salary but this would be subject to the employer confirming that the probationary period had been completed prior to the funds being drawn down.
