Long time lurker, first time poster.
I took out a loan so I could help out my brother. He pays me back through monthly installments into my bank account. So effectively, he is paying the loan. This has been working fine, and there is around 12k left to go.
I am now living abroad and want to buy a house here with my partner. The mortgage lender requested a summary of our monthly outgoings, and also a copy of our last 3 months bank statements. We provided these and were approved for a mortgage without problems -- However, I didn't mention the irish loan, as it does not appear on my bank account here. It is paid by my brother though my irish account. So it does not show as a monthly outgoing for me.
Have I broken the law? Should I have disclosed it?
