Getting fired and redundancy

I was wondering - argument - with colleague.
If someone gets fired - are they entitled to the redundancy they would have been given if let go for other reasons.

No entitlement to redundancy for being dismissed, but if the dismissal is unfair or has come about because an employer is trying to avoid their responsibilities under employment legislation then that's a different matter. Citizens advice and maybe call NERA too.
