Bought a chest of drawers and two lockers from ‘Everything in Pine’, near Red Cow Roundabout on 29 January and paid €100 deposit (using my credit card). They were due to be delivered last weekend. I’ve been trying to ring the shop since last week and called out on Sat to find shop closed and neighbouring business told me they were ‘closing down'. This week the phone is not even ringing-sounds like its been disconnected.
I rang the Companies Registration Office to see if the business was in liquidation but they told me the status of the business is normal. I’ve also contacted my credit card provider re their liability for refunding the charge due to non-delivery of goods. They have put a dispute on the amount (so I won’t be charged interest) but said that I have to allow 30 days from promised delivery date for the goods to be delivered.
I’m going to Ikea next week and can pick up stuff there instead but am wondering what my position would be re getting the deposit refunded if the shop turn around and make contact to say they have the goods after I've bought elsewhere?
