Getting computer screen fixed?

I have an HP laptop which works fine but the screen is cracked in the inside and it is difficult to see the contents of the scree. Does anyone know the best and cheapest way/palce to get this fixed?
 
I had a similar problem recently and the cost of repair is prohibitive so I now use the laptop linked to a separate monitor.:(

What type of monitor do you need to hook it up to, what cables do you need etc?
 
I was looking for a palm screen recently and found a supplier on Ebay who sold all the bits needed to repair it.You might try there with the make and model number.
 
Hi,
Any monitor should link to the laptop as long as it has a serial cable connection (I think thats what its called). Have a look at the back of your laptop and see if it has a connection with a picture of a screen over it. Most standard monitors that come with PCs are attachable.
