Getting Christmas cards delivered after Christmas.

My son contacted me today to say that he had just received my Christmas card. I had posted it to him well before Christmas.
This afternoon I received a Christmas card that was postmarked the 16th December.
I have never seen this happen before.

I suppose you always get a few that evades the sack for one reason or another.

My parents were notorious among their friends for always getting their Christmas cards out late. They got a call from a friend in mid-December one year, saying they were surprised to have received a card already. My mother thought it a little strange as she hadn't posted them yet. It was the previous year's card that had taken over 11 months to be delivered.
