Getting bank to extend mortgage - Effects on Tracker

Hi

I'm planning on requesting that the bank extend my current mortgage. I wondering what's the best approach to ensure I keep my tracker mortgage.

Currently with BOSI. Originally took out 35 yrs mortgage but over the course of the last 8yrs brought it into 15yrs.

Looking to push this back out to 25yrs or so to lower the monthly repayment amount. Plus key that keep my tracker.

Has anyone else done anything similar and if so how did you go about it.

Hi Dman

If it's for your home, they can't kick you off your tracker in exchange for restructuring or for going into arrears.

When you brought it down to 15 years, you changed the terms and they are unlikely to allow you to extend it again.

You can ask them, but as they are trying to exit the Irish market, I don't think that they will agree.
