Getting a Mortgage in Poland

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anyone out there has some good advice for me. My girlfriend
Is from Poland and is seriously thinking of purchasing property back there (maybe an apartment in Poznan). However been pretty new to the house purchasing she has been finding it difficult to get the best information in terms or mortgages and rental information and I’m having a lot of trouble understanding the differences they have in their system compared to ours.

There seems to be many firms that charge commission to look after the whole deal for you… but I was thinking that they shouldn’t be necessary. Does anyone have any advice in terms of good mortgage providers in Poland that will deal with Polish people living in Ireland? Sorry, for asking… but it seems to be a bit of a minefield out there and just looking for some good advice and a pointer in the right direction.

Apologies also if I have posted in the wrong section, please feel free to move it.

Thanks in advance

Hi

I'd speak to AIB or their Polish operation (it's called WBK something or other) .. suspect they must have some sort of link up for all the Polish over here and Irish purchasing over there

Cheers

I'm dealing with a developer in Poznan and I will give him a shout tomorrow about mortgages there, ok?

BZWBk are a subsisidiary of AIB and have a lot of Irish guys working in Poland. Here's a phone number for their Warsaw branch - 00 48 22 586 8059.
