My sister in law in england has just bought her kitchen in england on credit card. She got 0% for 12 months and has invested the money in a high earner account and will then pay off credit card after twelve months or if another offer comes switch to a new account.
Is there any way i can do similar here in ireland without paying huge fees?
I`m presently in Bank of ireland with no balance.?

See the Best Buys forum. There are a number of credit cards that offer 0% on purchases for an introductory period-but nobody in Ireland offers 12 months.

There are no fees on credit cards, other than stamp duty of €40.

First Active offer 9 months 0% interest on purchases - not mentioned in Best Buys.

Wow, I might be out of touch but this is all news to me - it used be that such 0% offers only applied to balance transfers, no?

So some credit cards are offering 9 months to pay on new purchases? Dangerous if you're not disciplined, given that a very high interest rate would kick in after the grace period.

No, it's not new at all. It's not as common as 0% on balance transfers, but it is available and has been for some time now on certain cards.
