German Account Query

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone who has opened a German bank account could advise on the following:

1. Can I open a German account without a German address?
If so, how complex is this process?
I've come across a lot of conflicting info on this!
2. The money I will lodge is currently held as an AIB bank draft, will this pose any issues when putting it in the German account?
3. If we're still good re the above questions, is it possible to get an ATM card for this German Bank and withdraw cash here in Ireland without paying through the nose?
4. I note that a lot of German Bank websites are in German (no surprise), but there's no English version either, so is this an issue for anyone with online banking etc?
5. Because of the website language issue, i'm finding difficult to gather enough proper info to make an informed decision (Cortal Consors for example). Could anyone point me in the direction of a German Bank offering a decent enough rate?

I have an a/c with Deutsche Bank in Berlin and DB do have an English version of their website and also English speakers in some of their branches.
I had no problem opening an a/c but that was in '06 and not sure if things have changed.

I hope the german banks wont give the money so recklessly to the other banks this time around and start the cycle again
