GE money pull out of the Mortgage Market

I won't be sorry to see the back of the sub prime market.
However, it means another 80 misfortunes will be signing on in the coming weeks. As usual the large coporate who brought the sub prime plague to our shores slips away and the families of both the borrowers and the employees are left in a terrible situation.
 
Elaine, are you on a fixed rate? My understanding was that all specialist lenders have reduced rates at this stage due to interbank rates coming down.
