gardening beside beach

Hi,

Moving down to live right beside beach in Portrane. Am keen to get the garden done up nicely but have never had to garden on sandy soils at all, so havent a clue what plants will suit or whats possible. I currently live in the city and have a lot of container vegtables etc that i'l bring down , but I'd love to grow native beach beach plants as well if possible and sort out a lawn if possible!. Anyone any knowledge on sandy soil gardening or know any good gardening forums? i tried to google some but had no luck

Sorry I can't give you any advice but I can say that the nicest potatoes around are those grown in the sand in Donegal.
