I very much doubt you'd make enough to make the payment and the loss of privacy worthwhile. You'll have planning permission issues, since you'll need full water and sewerage connections. The space is, let's say, cosy, even for a single person, and the set up is a long way from ideal (living at the bottom of the landlord's garden? *shudders*). It'll be too small to be properly self contained - what about laundry? What about cooking facilities - proper cooker in tiny log cabin? Fire certification?I have a big garden at the rear of our house in palmerstown Dublin 20. I am thinking about putting a log cabin/garden apartment in it and renting it out. The total cost of the project would be 16k. The cabin will be 25 meter sq and be fully furnished. There are 3 questions I have before I embark on this investment
1) What rent per month could I expect to get from it
2) Are there many other people who have done this, is it a good idea
3) Will I get tenants
Any feed back on this matter would be very helpful to me . thanks.
I live in a log home - no problems with planning! Before anything else, you'll need planning permission, which I doubt you'd get.
