Just wondering where is the best place to buy wooden garden table and fold up chairs in the Cork area.

Have you got an Arro home and garden centre in Cork? I got a great folding set (hardwood) table and chairs with parasol and cushions - 6 seats - for 700 - euro approx much better than the stuff at Woodies.
They have a good selection and most of them are fairly sturdy.
